Large crowds are expected to attend the annual 5-day Parkes Elvis Festival from Wednesday 8 January to Sunday 12 January. The following roads will be closed to accommodate crowds:

From 6am Wednesday to 8pm Sunday - Short St will be closed from Clarinda St to Welcome St.

From 6am Friday 12 Jan to 7am Sunday 14 Jan - Sections of Clarinda St, Church St and Court St will be closed.

From 6am Saturday to midday Sunday - Sections of Bushman St, Victoria St, and Caledonia St will be closed to facilitate the Elvis Street Parade.

Motorists should allow extra travel time, be aware of increased pedestrian movement and follow instructions of traffic controllers diverting traffic around closures

The closure of Short St will see a detour for all vehicles via Lachlan St, May St and East St
